DJ Suss One

According to Suss One, DJs’ have a certain specialty where they rule: either in the clubs, the radio, or on mix albums. Suss’ wants to be “exceptional” at all three. Suss One is not your typical DJ, being diverse and equally talented in all the fields of the game. He jams it up in the clubs, makes it hot on the mix tapes, and fills the radio up with his own hard hitting style. His dream, thought is to dominate NYC radio and beyond. Being on the radio gets some of the message out, but he wants to reach everyone.

Suss began his career in music working as an intern for Sony Records. While interning there he was able to witness first hand the inner workings of the music business he would come to dominate. In addition to that, Suss made a daily journey from New York to Connecticut to rock the Power 104 airwaves. Suss One commuted between his hometown and Conneticut six days a week for 2 years. All the hard work finally paid off when Mariah Carey selected him to be her DJ on the 2006 world tour supporting the Emancipation of Mimi. His talent on the tables, and larger than life personality made Suss the clear choice—not many DJs could survive next to the diva herself. Nightly he played for 20,000 people reaching a whole new audience in each city he came to.

While most DJs are known for one thing—mixtapes, their radio personality, or rocking the clubs-- Suss One stands out from the crowd because he’s been able to dominate all three. With over 200 mix albums, a daily radio show on Clear Channel’s Power 105.1 in the biggest market in the country, and residencies at the top clubs around, not many DJs come close to his game.

When the hottest gossip columns around—everyone from Rush and Molloy in the Daily News, and the notorious Page 6 in the New York Post—featured Suss’ victory party at Tenjune for the New York Giants Super bowl win it became obvious that Suss’ talent and persona have made him a celebrity in his own right.

Suss One is signified as “The Feature Presentation” tying into his dreams of making blockbuster movies that everyone will want to experience. His love of movies and production behind the scenes translates into his music as well, taking every opportunity to tear it up at the club and entertaining the masses.
