2nd Avenue is Open for Business!
MTA Capital Construction and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce have launched "Shop Second Avenue- It's Worth It!", a campaign affirming that Second Avenue's shops, restaurants and neighborhood businesses are open during the construction of the Second Avenue subway line.
From the 2012 Second Avenue Restaurant Week to free marketing seminars for merchants, we have been out on the avenue bringing great deals to shoppers and supporting the local business community.
Working with business owners along the Avenue, Shop Second Avenue aims to bring exclusive offers, information and specials straight to your smartphone. We will also provide information on special events involving the Avenue, and update our subscribers with the latest news that relates to Second Avenue and its surrounding area.
The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce is working with the elected officials, the Mayor's Office, community groups and merchants to support the brand and create great shopping and dining opportunities for residents in support of the businesses.
The app contains a number of sections, each designed to help you get the most out of Second Avenue in a different way. 'On the Ave.' is a directory of all the businesses on Second Avenue, arranged by catagory. 'Special Deals' contains listings of exclusive savings available to app users in a variety of Second Avenue businesses. The app contains feeds from news and social media to keep you updated with what is happening on the Avenue, and also a gallery of photos from the Avenue and the facility to send in your own pictures!
