art•sounds - catch the vibe on site

art•sounds are surprising sound compositions by artist Tanja Hemm. They are created to collaborate with a specific location or situation. art•sounds will trigger your imagination and memory: they want you to catch the specific vibe of a site! They can be humorous, natural, vivid, quiet and much more. They will move you, while you enjoy where you are. Take that vibe in. Take a fresh start with a familiar site or take a surprise stop at an unfamiliar one. Go for it worldwide, while you travel or in your home town. Choose an art•sounds single spot that you can easily approach at any time by yourself. Like 'park bench' for example: pick any park bench', or as many as you like for listening to the composition 'park bench'. Or choose 'coffee break'. Create your individual 'coffee break' wherever you decide. Or choose an art•sounds city walk, a package of three specific sites of a city that make you feel, smell, hear and taste the immanent character of this city. You are comfortably geotagged to the three locations, they are in a reasonable walking distance to each other. Every site has its individual composition of course, evolving from the specific features and secrets of the spot. Last but least, if you want to have a break within the city ambience, choose a quiet spot. No sound composition, but a hidden treasure of information: you will be guided to a noise reduced spot within the city. Whether you choose single spot, city walk or quiet spot, on site you can walk around, explore, stand still. Take in what inspires you. Linger or have a quick off and on. Have fun. Think private thoughts. Take a refreshing break. Have an exciting blind date with an art•sounds product. For her compositions Tanja Hemm uses instruments, natural sounds and/or text, no electro acoustic or computer generated sounds. Since 2002 Tanja Hemm has so far created over 40 site specific sound installations. For public and private locations, art fairs, museums, cities, galleries and festivals. Tanja Hemm has decided to use the potential of the APP in order to allow a broad audience to experience her very specific sound art independently and on their own, simultaneously creating the possibility for a high sound quality experience, that can balance and enrich existing audio situations in our socities. The iphone becomes the device of art, the instrument, the central motor that incorporates the installation and guides you. It brings sound, listener, location and stillness together and makes the performance possible. Here you are, ready to go. Your iphone will keep the strings together.
