The Northside neighborhood is one of the oldest and largest neighborhoods in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is home to 5,800 people and is less than a half-mile from downtown. We are blessed with a water playground, two elementary schools, over 20 churches, at least 15 social service agencies which serve the entire county and includes approximately 150 businesses. The Water Reclamation Plant is located in Northside and serves the entire city of Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo River Valley Trail runs through our neighborhood giving residents easy access to the County's newest park. We have over 132 acres of green space through our five parks:
- Farrel Park was revitalized in 2011
- Verburg Park
- Martin Luther King Park
- Lacrome Park hosts several annual events
- Versuluis Dickinson Park hosts the annual summer softball league and many other festivals including: the Can-Am festival and the Bud light baseball tournament.
