Astro Bro: Jetpack Racer takes you on an intergalactic space racing adventure. This is not your ordinary racing video game (steer the car, press button to accelerate, BORING).
Jetpack Racer, as the name might suggest, introduces a whole new dimension to the racing experience: the vertical kind. Use the left/right controls to navigate your character to either horizantal direction). Use the up control to activate your jetpack, and go vertical. Release it if you need to lower your altitude.
In addition to the iconic Astro Bro, Jetpack Racer introduces three brand new characters: Astro Chick (a human), Brumby and Ducklin (aliens) each with varying racing skill levels.
Win races against your AI competitors to unlock more difficult tracks. And win in-game coins to purchase upgrades you can use in races.
Upgrades come in 3 basic categories: armor, ammo, engine. The more expensive the upgrade, the more powerful it is. Load up on ammo to blast your unsuspecting competitors out of the race. Or load up on armor to protect yourself (they won't hesitate to fire back).
You can always see your remaining ammo and armor levels on the screen, so if you're running low on armor... try not to get shot. Or run into a space mine (yes, watch out for those on the more challenging tracks).
