Ancient Tibetan teachings tell us that merely seeing an image of the Medicine Buddha or even hearing his name holds the power to heal. Now, acclaimed musician and former Buddhist monk Nawang Khechog invokes the blessings of this potent deity with the Music as Medicine app.
Nawang is one of the few Tibetan musicians today who has received the blessing transmission of these teachings. Here, he shares them with the world as a catalyst for transformation. About the Artist
Nawang Khechog practiced as a monk for 11 years in India and has studied under His Holiness the Dalai Lama for three decades. His Holiness also guided and sponsored Nawang during his four years as a hermit meditator in the foothills of the Himalayas. Nawang fills a truly unique spot in Buddhist culture as a teacher, performer, practitioner, and Tibetan freedom fighter. He has sold several million of his CDs worldwide. A Grammy® nominee and recipient of multiple awards, he is best known for his top-selling albums from Sounds True and his performances with Laurie Anderson, David Bowie, Kitaro, Philip Glass, and other renowned musicians.
