(1) Look at your music
(2) Set the key
(3) Touch the screen
(4) Hear your note
You don't need to know anything about music, you don't need to know what the notes are called or what key signatures are and you don't need to know how to play the keyboard. All you do is touch the screen and hey presto! you hear the note! Earstrument will show you the name of the note and what the the name of the key signature is.
