The human brain project or “Brain” for the Apple Store, is a new digital Atlas of the human brain, based on the latest research of neuroscientists from the University of King’s College London. It capitalizes on the latest imaging technology to map the complex anatomy of the human brain. This application enables an interactive visualization of the brain in 3D and a deep understanding of brain functions and its disorders.

Covering a wide range of topics in the field of clinical neuroanatomy, this application constitutes both an excellent introduction to the brain for everyone interested in neurosciences, as well as a valuable reference work for students, researchers and doctors working in the field of neurology, neuropsychology , psychiatry, neurosurgery, and neuroradiology.

The application displays anatomical features of the human brain derived from virtual dissections,sectional, connectional dissections, and in vivo MRI scans. A unique feature of this atlas is the ability to display connections and complex networks of the brain together with the classical divisions of its surface into Hemispheres, Gyri and Brodmann areas.

The Atlas is organised in two virtual rooms. The Dissection Room shows a 3D human brain where the user is able to select individual brain structures and understand their anatomy and function using a thematic textbox.

The Study Room offers a more in depth overview of the anatomy of the human brain and clinical manifestations associated with neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Based on cutting-edge research, the digital Atlas of the Human Brain is the most advanced tool to understand the complexity of the human mind.
