新版【還珠格格】拍攝地橫跨北京懷柔、內蒙壩上和浙江橫店,拍攝耗時九個月,場面之宏大,在國內電視劇市場堪屬首部。
全劇以乾隆盛世的清裝大戲融合現代思維,劇情融入西洋元素與國際視野,以「清裝輕喜劇」的方式呈現,處處展現樂觀開朗的幽默趣味。從小燕子的處事中,突顯中國善良直率的性格。透過紫薇的才學,表現中國精深的倫理道德和傳統文化,並發揚孔子世界大同之博愛精神。同時也藉由來自西洋的郎世甯和班傑明的清新角色,顯示中國宏觀的包容力,讓中西文化藝術與音樂,溫馨地呈現和交流。此外,劇中並以「餃子宴」突顯中國傳統美食的精巧和豐富,生動活潑的足球競賽闡述國粹運動。藉由主角堅韌、熱情的性格,鼓勵人們以樂觀的精神克服困難,更希望透過小燕子開朗的赤子情懷,將歡笑、幽默、溫暖、感動,傳遞給每一個,熱愛中國文化,熱愛戲劇的人們。
