By careful driving you can keep the risk of causing an accident low. Despite all precautions, you can be involved in an accident. If the accident occurred and can't be clearly understood, a 'black box' is useful, a device that records data while driving, e.g. acceleration, speed and location. Unfortunately, such devices are very expensive (price > 500 €).
