The app is a guide through South Tyrol’s Original Christmas markets in Bolzano/Bozen, Merano/Meran, Bressanone/Brixen, Vipiteno/Sterzing, Brunico/Bruneck.
The application is simple to use and is divided into two main categories: Christmas markets and a Quiz Game.
The app can be used as a warm-up to your Christmas holiday in South Tyrol and as a guide through the five Christmas markets. The app offers intriguing texts about the specific Christmas markets, listings of opening hours, accommodation, restaurants, events, information about use of public transport and available parking facilities, and a detailed travel description using a map; numerous photos and a video. In the period between 25 November and 24 December 2013, users of the Original South Tyrol Christmas Markets application will receive a daily quiz about the Advent season in South Tyrol. Anyone who answers the 30 questions correctly will receive a digital form that entitles the holder to participate in a drawing for the final prize: 1 weekend in one of the 27 quality-tested South Tyrol Family Hotels, for 2 adults and 2 children, including meals.
Recipes for the most beloved local Christmas treats, provided by So kocht Südtirol authors Gasteiger, Bachmann and Wieser, are sure to keep tummies happy during the holiday season. Intuition, a spirit of discovery, and in-depth information all come together in the navigation of this app.
The main functions of the Christmas market application are the following:
•Information on the five Christmas markets in the towns of Merano, Bolzano, Bressanone, Vipiteno, Brunico
•List of all hospitality establishments and restaurants in the five towns
•List of all events
•Salient features of each town
•Recommended car parks
•Current weather report and forecast
•Your own position on the map
•Information about use of public transport
•Direct connection by telephone and e-mail to the addresses listed
•Photo gallery of the five Christmas markets in the towns of Merano, Bolzano, Bressanone/Brixen, Vipiteno, Brunico
