In Visual Harmony, each note takes the form of a colorful shape rotating about the center of the screen. When the note rotates past the line, the note is played. Each note rotates twice as fast as the point preceding it. These simple rules produce stunning visual patterns and hypnotic melodies.

At Excelltech Mobile we found Jim’s web app so engaging, we had to create our own portable version for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. “Visual Harmony - A Graphical Music Box” is the result. While staying true to the original idea of the Whitney Music Box, Visual Harmony allows the user to interact with the setup and the function of the device.
