This application is intended for use by Dietitians.
It performs a Calorie Count using standard Food Exchange methodology, totaling calories and amount of Carbohydrate, Protein and Fat.
Serving size is 1 cup unless otherwise specified. Number of servings for Milk, Fat, Fruit, Meat and Vegetable may be entered in fractional values. Skim milk is assumed and Fat should be added for 1%, 2% or whole milk.
The application will also calculate BEE (Basal Energy Expenditure) using the Harris-Benedict formula. BEE is sometimes also referred to as BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) or REE (Resting Energy Expenditure). Along with BEE, BMI (Body Mass Index) and IBW (Ideal Body Weight) are also calculated and displayed.
Activity factor can also be used for more accurate results.
Breakdown of the calories:
Milk = 1 cup skim milk = 90 kcal (for 2% milk add 1 tsp fat, for whole milk add 1.6 tsp fat)
Fat = 1 teaspoon oil or equivilant = 45 kcal
Bread = 1 slice = 80 kcal
Fruit = 1 small piece or 1/2 cup = 60 kcal
Veg = 1 cup raw or 1/2 cup cooked = 25 kcal
Meat = 1 oz = 75 kcal, so e.g. an 8 oz steak is quantity 8
The application has the ability to save multiple person's information. View the saved information at any time by clicking on the Data. You can also delete the saved persons data. You can set up unlimited persons and save their data
The saved information displays all the person's details, their servings, their BEE values, and the calculated calorie counts.
The application also has Vitamin information. It has the Vitamin purpose and the sources for the most common Vitamins.
