Domestic dogs have been sharing the company of humans for over 100,000 years. With this lengthy common history, dogs and humans have developed common communication skills, such as smiling, eye gaze, and laughter. During play encounters dogs vocalize using at least four distinct patterns: whines, growls, barks and a breathy pronounced forced exhalation known as a "dog laugh". Although most dogs will utter these four patterns of vocalization during play, only the laugh is exclusively uttered during play and not during other encounters. So powerful is this stimulus, that humans can initiate play with dogs by using an imitation dog laugh without any other play signal. Upon hearing a dog laugh subjects chase and play with the individual producing the dog laugh, regardless if the individual is dog or human.
DogGiggles can be used in multiple ways:
• Positive Reinforcement - Does a lot for the relationship of the pet to its master and should be given any time the pet demonstrates a correct behavior at an appropriate time. DogGiggles is the ONLY Application on the App Store that provides positive reinforcement for your pet. And while both positive and negative reinforcement are very important in training, if error is to be made in either direction, fall to the safer side of too much positive reinforcement, as this is much easier to correct.
• Relieving Stress - Relieve stress in your dog by increasing positive stimuli, such as a dog laugh. Animal Behaviorists have proven that exposing dogs to dog laughter soothes them, and drastically decreases their stress levels. Dog laughter audio played through speakers has been used for many years in dog shelters to calm dogs.
• Initiating Play - By playing any of the dog laughs in this Application you can initiate play with your pet instantly!
NOTE:
Although most of the sounds may sound the same / identical to YOU, they aren't, and will sound different to your DOG!
Make sure your device's volume is turned on and set to max.
