About the app
The BJA (British Journal of Anaesthesia) Journals app from Oxford University Press enables you to read your favourite anaesthesia journals, BJA and BJA Education, both online and offline on your iOS device (provided you have a relevant personal subscription, institutional subscription, or society membership).
You can:
• download issues when you’re online, so that you can read them whether you’re connected to the Internet or not
• view the tables of contents for issues when you’re online, whether you have downloaded them yet or not
• easily read issues from cover to cover by swiping through articles
• download and read advance articles (published ahead of print)
• download and read the PDF version of an article
• use the in-app search feature
• bookmark your favourite articles
• add your own notes to articles
• share articles by email or on social media
• listen to BJA and BJA Education podcasts
About the journals
BJA publishes a range of article types, including translational research, original research articles, correspondence, book reviews, and a freely available podcast series.
BJA Education publishes material to support the continuous medical education and professional development of specialists in anaesthesia, critical care, and pain management with accompanying CME courses and podcast series.
These journals are published on behalf of the British Journal of Anaesthesia by Oxford University Press.
Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford. It furthers the University’s objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide.

Version 1.1 implements full access control. You can still view the journals’ table of contents for each issue available in the app, but to read the individual articles, you will need (a) a relevant society membership, or (b) a personal subscription, or (c) access to an authorized institutional WiFi network.
In addition, version 1.1 offers:
• links to CME
• an updated main menu
• a refreshed app icon
• several bug fixes
