The use of ambient nature sounds to aid relaxation, to calm and help clear the mind, to help induce good quality sleep is well documented and if you are reading this description, chances are you are looking for an app to do exactly that. Ambient Sound Mixer is that app.
Ambient Sound Mixer allows you to create your own personalised ambient and nature sound mix by varying the levels of a number of different discrete sounds. How about some birdsong next to a babbling stream or a heavy rain storm with distant thunder? Perhaps you prefer the low murmur of people in a coffee shop or the sound of waves crashing on to a sandy beach? What ever combination of sounds you prefer, you can mix one up using the Ambient Sound Mixer.
Your preferences are stored so are immediately available the next time you use the app, even surviving reboots. The app fully support Airplay and Bluetooth audio so you can listen to it on your quality speakers or Apple TV and runs happily in the background to conserve battery power. It even plays nicely with the underlying iOS so you can use the built in timer app to set up a sleep timer - just select "stop playing" within the timer app to stop the Ambient Sound Mixer after your selected time interval.
