Mental Health Wellness is an innovative smartphone application that would enable individuals to help them self manage their mental health and other associated physical conditions.
Mental Health Wellness has the following innovative features build in:
1. Visual Pill Reminder Service - This enables users to either (a) Take a photo of their medications or (b) Choose a photo from their smartphone photo gallery and program a reminder service with regards to their medications.
There will be a notification showing individuals their medications and the time to take at the programmed scheduled time
2. Side effects Information - This would enable users to have some understanding of the common side effects of their psychotropic medications
3. Mood Tracker - This enables users to log down their daily mood score and view a schedule showing their logged mood since the time they have downloaded the application
4. Questionnaire Test - It will be advisable for users to use this feature daily.
The developers have incorporated questionnaires like the Beck Depressive Inventory, GAD-7 for Anxiety Symptoms and also the Young Mania Rating Scale.
This would enable users to track the progression of their condition over time
5. Safety Plans - This would allow individuals to either call for their loved one or SOS or an ambulance when they are in a crisis situation.
6. Cognitive therapies - This enables individuals to make use of bibilotherapy to help them with their mood condition.
The conceptualisation of this application is done by (c) 2015 Melvyn WB Zhang & Roger CM Ho.
