ATIS Wheel calculates crosswind and headwind or tailwind components for takeoff and landing, based on ATIS/AWOS or METAR information (input by the pilot). The intuitive, visual presentation makes interpreting "The Numbers" a snap.
This Universal app features Retina-ready graphics and supports both portrait and landscape display orientations.
The ATIS Identifier and Wind Speed are set by tapping on their respective labels. The wind direction and landing runway are set using two-finger rotation gestures.
• Rotating with one finger on the wind arrow changes the wind direction.
• Rotating without touching the wind arrow changes the runway heading (by rotating the compass card underneath the runway).
Student pilots and experienced aviators alike will find this a useful addition to their arsenal of flying apps.
