Gravity's Rainbow - Debut Quantum LP
Similar to a vinyl LP album, a Quantum LP album plays back a collection of songs in a specific track order and by moving a single fader the listener can alter the playback mix in real time.
All stereo recordings made from 1958 to the early '70’s were mixed with channels panned either left, centre or right in the stereo field. Mono recordings of the time were remixed as stereo recordings by using a three way panning switch to assign the channel locations.
Inspired by these original LCR stereo recordings, the Quantum LP
allows real-time exploration of distinct stereo channels that combine together to create a QLP album mix.
Like layers in an onion, a master recording can now be gently peeled apart and explored by moving a single master slider.
Just like their vinyl album forbears, QLP Records are intended to be played back in their entirety as a unified collection of songs. There are two QLP Album modes, Classic and Vintage. Classic features a conventional album that can also be blended with alternate versions. Vintage mode enables the album version to be deconstructed and blended with an acoustic version.
This debut QLP Record by Gravity's Rainbow plays back in Classic mode. Every song can be blended with a remix version and an acoustic version. Featuring vocals by Lola Dubois and Michael Sunjack, this modern vocal duet album encompasses atmospheric electro steampunk jazz beats with chilled out acoustic guitar versions of every song.
Designed for playback in Headphones or Hi Fi speakers.
