The Museum is introducing a new app as a digital learning tool for families to dig deeper into the hands-on, minds-on exhibits in the Children’s Museum of Houston. Unlike apps that focus on Museum hours and maps (which we do have), this app allows you to:
• Discover new challenges for our interactive exhibits
• Explore new concepts and phenomena
• Get ideas for activities to do at home
• Comment on activities
• Share your experiences via social media
• And more still to come!
BUT, we need your help to make our new app great! Help us continue to grow this app by using the app at the Museum and sending us your thoughts and suggestions. Eventually, this app will become an open-source tool that other museums can adapt for use in their exhibits!
The app content is continually being updated. Please regularly check your app for the most up-to-date content. For more information about the museum, please visit www.cmhouston.org
This app is being developed as a part of the “Extending and Customizing Learning” grant funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This project is led by the Children’s Museum of Houston with the following project partners: Lawrence Hall of Science, Museum of Life and Science, New York Hall of Science, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Sciencenter, and Garibay Group.
Special thanks to Pariveda Solutions and their nine Summer 2014 interns for their hard work collaborating with the project team and developing the initial version of this app.
