An exciting advance in Kayaking technology for your iPhone, iPad, or iPad mini at a price that it orders of magnitude cheaper than dedicated hardware devices that have a fraction of the features of KayakNav.

KayakNav is designed to assist with navigation and training in your Kayak. Just plot your path on GoogleEarth and email yourself the KMZ file. KayakNav will load up the track-points, optimise the path and calculate all the statistics required to track your paddling. It even auto-loads the nearest route. You can also send it GPX files or just start paddling and use the path that is recorded for your next paddle.

Complete hands-free operation and minimal setup means you don't waste time mucking around with your device at the start or finish of a race. Just start KayakNav and it handles the selection of the correct route and resetting timers as you cross the start line. It even emails your results to you when you cross the finish line. While paddling, it automatically pans, rotates and zooms the cached map to provide you with the best view of the course at all times.

It provides a virtual training partner to help you maintain pace in both time trials and marathons.

For marathons and long open water treks, provides a coloured compass with optimised path targeting to minimise your total paddle distance help you get back on course quickly.

For tidal rivers, KayakNav now calculates your ETA along the selected route and graphs the tide so that you can plan your rests and see when you will get a boost from the tide change.

This is an update for iOS10. It includes minor bug fixes and implementation of secure web server connections. It has also been localised for English, Polish and Italian. Now pre-loaded with map tiles for included paddle routes. Extensive on-line documentation Wiki now available.
