The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is excited to present Mission Intrepid: Explore Enterprise! This iPhone mobile application, available for iOS 7+, includes nine different experiences that you can unlock and complete to earn badges, as well as a final reward that is unlocked at the end of the mission.
Mission Intrepid: Explore Enterprise is designed to interact directly with the exhibits in the Museum’s Space Shuttle Pavilion, using various exhibit zones as hotspots that unlock content to enhance your visit. However, the content within the app can be accessed outside of the Museum as well, providing information for those unable to visit. You can purchase tickets to visit the Intrepid Museum online at www.intrepidmuseum.org.
The Intrepid Museum’s Space Shuttle Pavilion showcases the space shuttle Enterprise, the prototype NASA orbiter that paved the way for the space shuttle program. Dynamic exhibit zones feature original artifacts, photographs, audio, and films that immerse visitors in the science and history of Enterprise and the space shuttle era.
With the Mission Intrepid: Explore Enterprise app, learn fascinating information about space shuttle Enterprise and the Space Shuttle Program. Watch videos featuring astronauts and other space explorers, including Greg Olsen, a businessman and the third private citizen to travel to space.
Each experience within the app has at least one “Learn More” moment, including videos, infographics and other information that will expand on the content you see. As you move through the app, you will move up in rank, from New Recruit all the way to Commander.
