What is Sunya? --- Dalai Lama's Discourse on the Heart Sutra

Dalai Lama says that Buddhism is a prescription to lead a better and fulfilled life. This is an app to enjoy the Heart Sutra in everyday life to apply the essence of Buddhism in contemporary life style.

It includes a valuable video where Dalai Lama answers questions, guiding us through the sutra. Kouzou Otani, a non-fiction writer was the interviewer. Otani also wrote ten chapters, explaining Sunya and how different translations give various sutra interpretations in a clear and rhythmical way.
Dalai Lama, who has memorized the massive amount of sutra, explains the philosophy of Buddhism in simple and beautiful words in this video.

Kazuo Kikuchi, photographer, accompanied Otani for interviewing Dalai Lama. 85 photographs and videos by Kikuchi show temples, people and nature of Northern India and Tibet. The photographs show devout people and grand nature of the land. Sutra is still a large part of people’s lives there.

One can use finger and pen to hand copy the sutra on digital screen. The surface has the look of Japanese paper and the trace of hand copying the sutra has the touch of a traditional brush. Save and Preview functions are also available. You will experience concentration similar to meditation, a sense of achievement, and the dynamic of hand-copying the sutra.
