Kids SmallTalk

Small Talk is an app designed to help parents spark conversation with their children about school. This pediatrician-recommended app provides parents each morning with an interesting, open-ended question to ask their child(ren) about school that requires more than a "yes" or "no" answer. What sets this app apart and makes it work is that questions are asked before school each morning so children can spend the day thinking about how they are going to answer the given question, thus preventing children from giving the standard answer of "fine" when asked about their day at school or "I don't remember" when asked what they learned. Parents and children work together to set goals and parents can give their child(ren) points based on how well the question of the day has been answered. This gives the child incentive to not only answer their question, but to expand upon it as well. Each question is designed so that if desired, parents can use it as a springboard for deeper conversations about school with their child(ren).
