Storytime App was founded in Jan 2013 with the App released May 2014 by Jason Cooke.
A father of 3 that works away from home on an even time roster 2 weeks on and 2weeks off.
While at home, like many parents Jason reads stories to his children at bed time.
While he was away at work, this was a problem, he would try and use programs such as skype and face time or even just over the phone to achieve the bedtime story result.
Due to the remote locations of Jason work, the internet connection were always poor and this sometimes created frustration from the signal dropping in and out, also poor quality.
Jason then remembered back to his child hood, were his brothers dad would send a casette tape in the mail for him to listen to rather than writing a letter. This was just chat rather than bed time stories though.
So Jason started to record his bedtime stories when he finished work at 6 am in the morning and then email them home ready for bed time.
This helped out at bedtime for mum, as she could play a story for one child while she got another ready for bed.
Recording stories this way quite a challenge, as Jason would have to go in and out of different applications to record the stories or do it with two different devices such as the computer and phone. And a lot of the programs or apps he would use wear quite techy.
So after reflecting on what he was doing and the technology available today the storytime app was spawned.
Our mission here at Storytime App Pty Ltd is - helping children feel loved while parents are away.
Keeping a childs love tank full is what we need to do as parents, so why should we let our circumstances like our jobs or broken down relationships between parents take away from our children.
What ever your circumstances are today, there is always something you can do put a smile on your little loved ones dial.
Storytime can’t change the physical distance but it can shorten the emotional gap of living with loved ones away from the family home. The storytime app also provides a sanity saving break for the parent left at home – they can tuck a child into bed with the storytime app while they go about getting other children ready or complete other household tasks.
