One of the most fun English/literacy teaching & learning iPhone apps available, English Strike, helps children to learn and practice their English through 300 questions/words in this fast-paced, high energy, ‘tilt & play’ game. With 8 engaging levels teaching spelling, rhymes, homophones, plurals and much more, this is a ‘quick-fire’ app that can test, entertain and teach the whole family. It’s a great way to boost quick thinking, word recognition and spelling patterns. We’ve used many of the most commonly misspelt/troublesome words in English too.

Levels include:

‘Right or wrong?’ Recognising correctly spelt words. If the word is correct block the tick, if it’s wrong, block the cross.
‘ie or ei?’ Testing words with these commonly mixed up letter pairs.
‘Sounds the same?’ Can you block the homophones? Watch out for the tricky fake answers.
‘Single or double?’ Look at the gap and choose whether it’s a single or double letter that’s missing.
‘Rhyme time!' Block the bombs that rhyme with the target word on the spaceship.
‘c, ck or k?’ Look at the gap and choose the letter, or letters, that are missing.
‘Plurals’ Testing how we say more than one of something. It’s not always easy.

Simple to play, hard to stop playing!
Watch the alien spaceship to see the questions. Turn your device to the left or right to steer your laser spaceship to destroy the falling bombs with the correct answer on it. These can be anything from missing letters to completing a word, rhyming words, homophones or simply choosing the correct spellings. Miss the correct answer or hit the aliens’ fake answers and the bombs will hit the ground, explode and you’ll lose a life. You only have 3 lives per game!

Earn your own English Strike license!
Each question you get right earns you a star on your English Strike license. If you make it to the end of the game, you’ll be able to add your photo or choose one of our space characters, then share your success with your friends and family, showing them how good your English is.
