Live webcam images from 4 corners of the Lake (Geneva, Lausanne, Vevey and Yvoire)
Live water temperature data
In Premium version: actual air temperature, wind speed and direction and UV index provided by MeteoSwiss for the summer period
2. Beach info section (free version: beaches from Geneva canton, premium: all 114 beaches)
Detailed description & evaluation of all beaches of Lake Geneva
200+ colour photos (cca. 80 beaches have dedicated photos)
Water quality data (for Geneva canton: provided and updated every 2 week in summer period by Etat de Genève)
Terrain: grass, sand, pebbles or rocks
Facilities: toilets, showers, changing room, lifeguard, playground, restaurant and if dogs are allowed
Entry fee & opening hours
GPS coordinates, address
3. Safety section – some basic safety information & contacts
4. Search – find the beach that suits you, eg. a sand covered beach with a restaurant
History of the app
It all started on a sunny afternoon in early June 2012, when I passed my Swiss sailing exam in Versoix. Drinking a beer at the bar in Port Choiseul, the idea of creating an app for Lake Geneva was born. A big team across countries helped to make it happen, and after about 800 hours of work, it was ready. We hope you like it, if you do - thank you for upgrading to Premium. 1% of net revenues will be donated to 'charity:water' a non-profit organisation bringing clean and safe water to people in developing nations.
If you are not happy with the Premium version, please write us so we can improve our app and we will refund 150%.
