Toilet and potty training can be a cause of anxiety for many parents. For some children it may literally happen overnight but for the majority it may take a little longer to get the hang of it. Either way, it is important for you and your child to be prepared for this exciting time in your their life when they finally become a big kid!
Kids love stories and can be great visual learners, especially children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, so using a story starring themselves can be a super effective way to motivate and encourage a child to use the toilet or potty. When we talk to families about what makes it hard for them to sit down and write a good story to help teach their kids new skills like toilet and potty training, they mostly say the time factor but it is also knowing what to write that is a major factor too!
Based on this, Little Star Early Learning decided to make a toilet and potty training story app that takes the guesswork out for families. The Toilet and Potty Training Story is already written for you - you just need to put your Little Star in the starring role! With the added bonus of being able to share your story via email you can send copies to preschool or school as well as easily make photo visual supports and schedules.
Each story also has its own tips section to help you with the toilet and potty training process and we have included some app extras on our website to help you along the way too.
By taking a positive approach to toilet and potty training and using a story and the strategies in this app families can be prepared for the worst and hope for the best!

Warning! When upgrading to the new iOS 7 system and version of this app you will lose the photos from the stories that have already created. You can email yourself the story so you have a PDF version on file and then you have an option to recreate it later on. Apologies for the inconvenience this upgrade has caused.
