A natural evolution of eye charts, not only reading tests but a global evaluation of visual performance and quality using the high resolution iPad lifelike images.
Eyevispod (EVP) is a complete and innovative method of measuring visual performance and is the answer to the need of standardization in the ophthalmological field.
Dr. Nicola Hauranieh, Ophthalmologist and Dr. Pietro Giardini, Ophthalmologist, invented EVP and it's the result of the collaboration of specialists and of a long period of scientific analysis which a definite guide line to instrumental data processing, unique of it's kind, has been developed.
The technical development has taken into account various important factors:
1- the development of a modern system that defines a new standard for methods of visual performance.
2-the creation of a simple, user-friendly instrument, to be used by both patients and professionals.
3-the development of a system that can be used internationally and in various languages.
4-the creation of an expandable system that could be upgraded with new functions.
The system comes in two languages:
-Italian
-English
EVP measure, collect, record and analyse near and intermediate visual performance in all patients. It overcomes the limitations of traditional visual acuity charts, by presenting the patient with a standardized image and recording the results as soon as they are measured.
The traditional system of measuring peak only near acuity and does not correlate with the quality of vision with real-life vision. there are a variety of day-to-day situations such as shopping, driving, going to the supermarket ecc.
Eyevispod gives a score of the patient's visual performance by simulating the most common daily visual tasks and problems and by processing data from a series of a subsequent tests.
EVP creats a funcional score of the pre- and post-operative near and intermediate vision quality. Also to compare the outcomes of various surgeries for presbyopia.
Eyevispod is easy to use, time efficient and the results are easily understandable.
Tests with EVP are:
1- Near visual acuity and contrast sensitivity
2- Reading speed
3- A series of every day visual tasks in real life dimension
4- Photic phenomena evaluation
5- Defocus curve calculation
Eyevispod is a system that helps to understand the quality of vision of each patient and the difference between different kind of refractive solutions.
