Look inside some of history’s greatest aircraft with the ACI Cockpit360º - The NMUSAF Collection App available from the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force and AeroCapture Images. This free App allows you to take virtual cockpit, flight deck and, cabin tours of select NMUSAF aircraft as if you were standing there in person. From the famed SPAD XIII C1 to the legendary SR-71A Blackbird, the ACI Cockpit360º App covers a wide selection of aircraft and the catalog is continually growing.
Among the more than 20, high-definition, 360º virtual tours are cockpits from many well-known aircraft on display at the museum, including the B-29 Bockscar that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan, to end World War II, and the F-4C in which legendary fighter pilot Col. Robin Olds and weapons system officer Lt. Stephen Croker destroyed two MiG-17s in a single day during the Southeast Asia War. Besides just the cockpits, you can enjoy exploring the B-36J Peacemaker and the B-52D Stratofortress with the App's Nose to Tail coverage.
Each interactive image is a snap-shot in time preserving a piece of aviation history, while at the same time, allowing users to immerse themselves in an experience few can access in person. Using the "Zoom" feature, you will be able closely examine the detail of the gauges and interior equipment, perfect for those pilots who wish to get a "virtual" cockpit check out. We've also included aircraft specs and links to the individual aircraft for the ability to do more research through the NMUSAF web site.
