★ Explore horror from Bangor and across Maine ★
Welcome to Stephen King’s Bangor; A journey through Derry Maine.
Walk through the streets of Bangor to see, touch and experience the city’s landmarks that reveal the motivation for Stephen King’s horror. Eerie feelings of dread follow as you walk in the shoes of King’s heroes and evil doers. But take care; the line that separates Derry and Bangor can often become blurred.
Many of King’s 50 plus novels are set in the fictional town of Derry. However we fans of King and the residents of Bangor Maine know that Derry is not entirely fictional. Derry shares more than a passing resemblance to his home town of Bangor.
Many landmarks and locations mentioned in this book and over twenty more are actual places in Bangor, where the towns most famous resident, acquired his inspiration.
So read on and I’ll show you the real Derry, where the evil and malevolence that spawned sales in excess of 350 million. Just be careful and remember what Mr Gray found when he came looking for the Thomas Hill Standpipe in King’s 2001 novel Dreamcatcher; A plaque to those lost in the 1985 Derry storm. The plaque had been vandalised, with graffiti reading; “PENNYWISE LIVES”
