Benchmark has applied their model to iOS, creating a highly usable, feature-rich app from their Oregon Road & Recreation Atlas:
* Zoom in through map layers including American West highway detail, Oregon Recreation Map with POI and mileages, Landscape Maps with hyper-accurate detail and rendered elevation and vegetation detail
* Activate additional map layers including aerial imagery, USGS Topo maps, NEXRAD weather radar, and OpenStreetMap by MapQuest
* Download entire Benchmark atlas for offline use, or simply create a screenshot to capture all map tiles within an area of interest
* Search (offline) for campgrounds, RV parks, and other points of interest
* Create your own points of interest by dropping a pin as a waypoint with lat/long coordinates and personalized notes
* Highly customizable - map layers, coordinate types, metric/imperial units
* Training videos at http://www.youtube.com/user/BenchmarkMaps/videos
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
