Kinfolk Magazine Volume 4

Kinfolk Volume 4 has been optimized for third generation retina display iPads. The clarity of the images and crispness of the text, takes this digital experience to whole other level.

The iPad version also includes three HD videos, and integrated outtakes not seen in the print edition.

Both Kinfolk Vol. 2 and 3 are optimized for first and second generation iPads. They will display in the third generation iPads but not at native resolution. Vol. 4 is compatible with all generation of iPads. That said, due to the high resolution of all the content the size of the app has increased significantly.

Kinfolk is a growing community of artists with a shared interest in small gatherings. We recognize that there is something about a table shared by friends, not just a wedding or once-a-year holiday extravaganza, that anchors our relationships and energizes us. We have come together to create Kinfolk as our collaborative way of advocating the natural approach to entertaining that we love.

Every element of Kinfolk – the features, photography, and general aesthetics – are consistent with the way we feel entertaining should be: simple, uncomplicated, and less contrived. Kinfolk is the marriage of our appreciation for art and design and our love for spending time with family and friends.

As a natural extension of our print publication we present Kinfolk Magazine for the iPad. We are very excited to be able to integrate our diverse content--words, images, videos--onto one platform. In addition to all the content offered in the print version we have integrated video features into the articles. We have also added a special "outtakes" section of images that just wouldn't fit in the print version. We also have taken advantage of the iPads native functionality to enhance the viewing experience. Some page layouts allow the user to move, rotate and zoom in on images. Others offer swipable, multi-image galleries. All articles retain the classic sense of simple design you have come to love in the print version. Enjoy.
