Fun and easy to use, Ministepz allows you to quickly program beats.
The way you interact with Ministepz is a little different than most if not any other drum rhythm app. Instead of the conventional sixteen steps shown linearly, steps are laid out in an 8 x 4 grid representing a track that is two measures of sixteen steps also know as a pattern. There are four tracks per pattern and eight patterns total. The eight patterns loop in sequence or an individual pattern can be looped.
You can change patterns on the fly. Touch the play button to start the sequence and let it play until the sequence loops back through pattern one. Touch any of the eight pattern numbers to immediately change patterns or double tap to loop the pattern. Tap again to un-loop. Repeatedly tap a single step to cycle through the three samples assigned to the current track. Slide your finger around the grid to assign multiple steps with one motion like finger painting.
Ministepz is not designed to be an end all drum machine, it is designed to be quick and easy to create beats with and most of all fun. The thing to keep in mind is that you are only viewing and working with one track at a time. Each step on a track can play back one of three different pre assigned samples.
