It all started when Vishnu returned to Vaikuntha after his Krishna avatar. Worried that the earth would be in utter chaos without Vishnu's presence, Brahma set in motion a plan to send him back. This Amar Chitra Katha visits the stories of an arrogant sage, a divine anthill, a sage's daughter destined to be Vishnu's bride, and many others associated with the Venkateshwara temple at Tirupati. These various legends are woven together in order to present the unique and mythical history behind one of India's greatest temples.
