With the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge as a back drop, join nationally recognized pre and postnatal yoga teacher Jane Austin for a yoga practice that is designed specifically to address common issues that a new mama experiences. As a mother of two, Jane understands firsthand the issues that often confront moms. With the work of caring for a new babe, a new mother may find her own needs neglected. Take time to care for yourself! These postnatal sequences will energize and strengthen mamas. Relaxation is also included in order to sooth a new moms over worked body and calm her nerves and mind. The practices focus on neck, shoulders, back, abs and pelvic floor.

Please get the okay from your doctor or midwife before beginning this practice. It is recommended mamas wait 4-6 weeks after a vaginal birth and 8 weeks after a cesarean birth before starting a regular yoga practice. It is important that the lochia flow has stopped. If you have a rectus diastasis (split in the abdominal muscles) avoid crunches, deep twisting and deep back bending until healed. Consult a physical therapist or a Pilates instructor trained in diastasis rehabilitation if split is present.
