Sunrise Alarm

Note: On iOS 5 you have to enable notifications for this app for it to work in the background. there's a central settings screen for notifications where you have to explicitly opt in each app you care about...

Sunrise Alarm is an alarm clock app with a special twist. Rather than set the alarm based on a time, you set it based on when the sun will rise (or set). If you want to wake up at "first light", you can, without having to enter in any particular clock time, and without having to change the settings over the course of days or weeks. If you want to wake up at dawn, or the crack of dawn, or before dawn -- you can!

With the Sunrise Alarm's all-new Vampire Mode™, if you want to sleep all day and party all night, Sunrise Alarm can help you with that as well!

This app is suitable for unemployed mountain bikers living in warm climates where it gets too hot to ride during the day. (Also, with Vampire Mode™ it is suitable for mountain biking at night.) It is also suitable for pig farmers and druids and civil war generals and duck hunters and other people who require synchronization not with wall clocks, but with the sun itself.

Added "Vampire Mode" which lets you set an alarm based on sunset, rather than sunrise. This is useful for mountain biking at night, or if you are living in Berlin and you need to know when it's time to get up and get ready for partying. Or if you are an actual vampire.
