The Haute Route – The highest and toughest cyclosportives in the world. Prestigious and professionally run 7-day road races aimed at amateur road cyclists. The two Haute Route events in 2013 each cover over 750km, climb more than 20,000 vertical metres, and traverse the greatest cycling terrain in the world – the Alps and the Pyrenees.

All the latest news and information, daily video and images as well as daily race results at your fingertips. Plus the chance to upload & view fans’ photos via Flickr.

‘Ride like a pro’
In August and September 2013, following in the pedal turns of their cycling heroes, 600 Haute Route riders will push themselves to their physical and mental limits – and experience what it’s really like to ‘ride like a pro’. The peloton of determined amateur cyclists will tackle the highest, steepest, and most world-renowned cycling terrain – all against the clock. With professional level event organisation including medical teams, mechanical support, rolling road security, film crews, and of course, massages, riders will be 100% immersed in the world of cycling for 7 unforgettable days.

Haute Route Alps:
Starting in Geneva (Switzerland) and finishing in Nice (France) the Haute Route Alps encompasses 19 legendary cols, including the Col de Saisies, Cormet de Roseland, and the epic climbs of the Izoard and Iseran. With a time trial on the Cime de la Bonette (the highest paved road in Europe), the Haute Route Alps 2013 is sure to be as challenging an event as the previous 2 years. Host venues Geneva, Megeve, Val d’Isere, Serre Chevalier, Pra Loup, Auron and Nice will welcome riders at the end of each long day in the saddle.

Haute Route Pyrenees:
New in 2013, the Haute Route Pyrenees starts in Barcelona (Spain) and finishes on the Basque Coast in France. Following the same principals of 7 days, 20 cols and more than 20,000m of climbing, the Haute Route Pyrenees is set to become as legendary as its Alpine sister. Host venues are Barcelona, Solsona, La Seu d’Urgell, Plan de Beret, Bagneres de Luchon, Argeles-Gazost, Pau, Arette and the Basque Coast. Riders will tackle the Pyrenees’ most well known climbs, the Hautacam, the Tourmalet, the Aubisque – as well as a number of lesser known gems - sure to test riders’ legs and lungs to the limit!
