But unlike everyone else in this village, I was sure the legends of treasure and mystery were true - I had to find out for myself!
Sometimes in the cafe, I would overhear the whispers of old me telling stories in a language I did not completely understand.
"And never seen again," they would mutter with a dark, sarcastic laugh.
Suddenly in the middle of the crossing, a terrible storm came crashing in. My small boat plunged over the waves. The wind and current were fierce and I was blown far out to sea.
After long hours the form passed. It was dark, a heavy fog surrounded me, and the old men's voices in the cafe echoed in my memory…
