FLIGHTTEST 2012 continues your journey in getting to know just what some of the best and coolest aircraft in the world actually feel like to fly - with this edition taking you into the hotseat of 10 more cracking rides.
Chief among them all is arguably the most evocative aircraft yet built: the legendary Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird spy plane, the fastest and highest-flying jet ever built! Despite its top secret status its silhouette alone is instantly recognisable, and just 93 US Air Force pilots ever got to fly it. We speak to long-time SR-71 commander Col Rich Graham about just what the Mach 3.5 'Bird was like to fly, how he felt piloting one of the greatest achievements of aeronautical design, and the numerous challenges overcome in creating an engineering masterpiece.
The Sunday Times said our Space Shuttle test in FLIGHTTEST 2011 was "worth the price of admission alone", so don't miss this insight into another true aviation icon!

Other aircraft featured include: Dassault's new 'green' Falcon 2000S - $25m and still fresh from the factory, the Spitfire replica that will have you asking "Is it, or isn't it...?", classic Italian twins in the shape of the Siai Marchetti and a Ferrari Daytona, a stunning civilian-owned ex-military Aérospatiale Gazelle helicopter, two of the most mouth-watering of the new generation of Light Sport Aircraft - the Flight Design CTLS and the Millennium Master, and the pocket rocket Glasair III - the 300mph+ machine you can build yourself!
We also hitch a ride with the super-talented Breitling Jet civilian display team - and get to take control! - and take a walk on the wet side flying a seaplane on beautiful Lake Como.
So strap in, buckle up, and prepare for takeoff into a world of flight!
