Most people have some idea of their name meaning or where their name came from. This iPhone/iPad Universal app is a good resource to look up the origin and meaning of names. You can browse through 50,000 name meaning and origin as well as top 1000 popular names rankings in the USA for new born babies, referencing data from the Year 2007 to 2010 statistics.
You can browse and bookmark your favorite names from the 50,000 names list or the use shake gesture for a random names suggestions from the entire database. Once you know the meaning of your name or your baby name, you can also look up the meanings of friends's and family names. Make a party out of it! Other features include:
✔ The names listing are ordered alphabetically in color codes for easy browsing - blue highlight for boy names, pink highlight for girl names and green highlight for unisex names.
✔ You can use the Bookmark function to store your favorite names. You can saves any names while browsing the database and the bookmark function provide quick access to them at any time.
✔ There is also the recently viewed names function which makes it easy for you to go back the names that you just browsed.

✔ The Top 1000 popular names listing is based on all the names from Social Security card applications for births that occurred in the United States for that particular year. Year 2007 to 2010 are included in the database for references.
