iScan3D

iScan3D is an application that turns the iPhone into a 3D scanner. The objective of this application is to offer the possibility to create point clouds or lifelike 3D models by using an iPhone instead of a specific 3D laser or white-light scanner. iSan3d requires a 3 steps process to follow to deliver accurate results.

Capturing the object
For capturing the object, take from 6 to 30 pictures of the object in a good and controlled lighting environment and a very good overlap between pictures. The object MUST BE STATIC AND DO NOT MOVE while the capture is ONLY made by moving the iPhone all around the object.
Computing the model
After the capture, iScan3D sends the pictures to our cloud computing platform that creates automatically and in a few minutes a point clouds or lifelike 3D model, depending on user choice.
Viewing and downloading the model
When the model is ready, user can view it on the iPhone. If the model is correct, the user can access to his homepage on our website and download the model in different formats.

The application comes with an initial subscription package that include the ability to create and download 20 models at all. The 5 first models are limited to a 10 pictures capturing process in order to get trained to the solution with a "self training program". Then the user will be able to capture full models with up to 30 pictures.

IMPORTANT NOTICE : This application requires good skills and knowledge on 3D scanning processes.
You are already a scanner user or are aware on scanning requirements and constraints, you are our target customer. In this case, just follow our guidelines (including a training period with 5 hands-on examples) and iScan3D will drive you to get amazing results.
You are a new user of 3D scanning or you expect iScan3D to work with any object, in any lighting conditions without any constraints or knowledge? iScan3D might not be appropriate for you. Check our website before purchasing our application !

When done properly, 3D models can be then used in many ways some professional like 3D printing, engineering, design, heritage conservation, virtual museum, body and face, medical, surgery, web applications but also for personal entertainment like avatars, 3D portrait, 3D models for the web (Ebay, Facebook, ...) and many others.

Subscribing to the online service
All the models created by iScan3D can be downloaded and exported into several format for being used in a lot of usages. When purchasing the application, the user have to register on the application by entering a login and password. These informations allow then the user to connect on Digiteyezer website that stores the model before download.
