"Te Wahipounamu" retains the natural beauty of ancient Gondwanaland. You will never experience this “sound of quietness” or tranquility in your busy daily city life.
We have located the source of the sound recordings on the map so you can visit the same places when you are in NZ. ^1

[“Dummy Head” technology]
All sound materials were recorded using the exceptional and high quality German technology of the Neumann KU100 binaural microphone ..... the so-called "Dummy Head". This exceptional microphone is modelled on a human head (it even has soft rubber ears), and imitates a human's head-related transfer function (HRTF).
When using headphones to listen to the sounds recorded with the "Dummy Head" microphone, the acoustic atmosphere captured is re-created around your head and you can feel as if you are "in the nature".
