Army Pocket Fitness

U.S. Army soldiers are in excellent physical condition. The staff of the U.S. Army Physical Fitness School (USAPFS) prepared the Pocket Physical Training Guide to help new recruits get into Army physical condition. The Pocket Physical Training Guide is the basis for Army Pocket Fitness and provides you information you can use to achieve your fitness goal.

This guide was written in recognition that both the quality and quantity of physical activity recommended to the individuals using this guide is consistent with current physical activity recommendations for the general public. The fitness components of cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition are all included. This program specifies the intensity, duration, and frequency of training, and it is the interaction of these three variables that results in improved health and physical fitness.
