94.5 Country (WIBW-FM) is a Contemporary Country Music Station serving the N.E. Kansas area from Topeka, Kansas. It’s 100,000 Watt signal is one of the best in the Midwest, covering into southern Nebraska, and eastern Missouri. 94.5 Country’s Cume (Total Audience) is the largest, both in it’s metro and total survey areas.
Progressive in it’s marketing efforts, the station is host to the Affiliated Food Midwest Country Stampede each summer in Manhattan, Kansas. The concert is the largest festival style show in the Midwest, with past performers including Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw & Keith Urban.
94.5 Country’s Playlist features a 60/40 current music to gold ratio, including only the top Country Music hits of today, mixed with gold favorites extending back to the mid 1980’s boom of country music.
The station prides itself on service to the community, broadcasting live and local and sponsoring events like the Salvation Army Bell Ringing Campaign, The Ronald McDonald House Huff & Puff Balloon Rally and the St. Jude Country Cares for Kids Radiothon. In it’s last effort, 94.5 Country raised nearly $75.000 for the St. Jude Research Hospital.
94.5 Country’s Broadcast Personalities have dominated the Kansas Association of Broadcasters awards for the last several years, including back to back wins of Personalities of the Year for the
“Walker Daniels” Morning Show, and several awards for Midday Personality Stephanie Lynn. The last two years, the station has finished 2nd in balloting for KAB Station of the year, only because
it’s sister AM Broadcast Station, 580 WIBW, has a stranglehold on the award. The Stations Website has also won awards for it’s design from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, and features a “listen live” ability 24 hours a day worldwide at 94country.com.
The Station offers many chances to win to it’s listeners, including event tickets, CDs and Cash. Specifically, with it’s signature games “Big Cash High/Low” and the “Capital Federal Cash Cube”.
