Before beginning, make sure that your audience is at least 5-10 feet away from you. The further away they are, the more dramatic the results will be. Start by simply swiping the screen to start the spiral spinning in a clockwise or counter clockwise direction, then place the iPad in front of your face.

Instruct your audience to stare without blinking at the center of the spinning pattern for ten seconds. Begin the countdown and count slowly; pausing every few seconds to remind them to stay focused, concentrate and not to blink.

When you reach zero, move the device away from your face, and it will appear that your head is either growing or shrinking, depending upon which direction you spun the pinwheel.

To increase the effect of what your audience experiences, if your head is "growing", slowly widen your eyes while inflating your cheeks with air. This will give more dramatic results for an even larger head. If you're going for the "shrinking" effect, simply tuck your chin against your chest, squint your eyes, and shrug your shoulders slowly to give the feel of even more "shrinking" action.
