Aviation NEXRAD RADAR HD for iPad

Aviation NEXRAD RADAR HD is the designed from the ground up to take full advantage of the iPad’s large screen. This app accesses all National Weather Service NEXRAD sites in the U.S. (approximately 150). This app is designed for pilots, travelers and aviation enthusiasts.

-Radar images overlayed with Google Maps, VORs or airports
-Plots all VORs in the United States
-Plots approximately 600 major U.S. airports
-Reflectivity, Doppler Velocity and Relative Doppler Velocity images
-Looping of images
-Controls for radar opacity and looping speed
-Finds closest radar to present location

Although Aviation NEXRAD RADAR HD uses official NWS server sites, users are reminded that official weather observations, forecasts, warnings and watches should be received directly from the NWS. Accurate interpretation of radar images can be very difficult and requires the expertise of a trained meteorologist. This app should never be used for flight planning
