2010 marks the “Year of the Games” – The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games which take place September 25-October 10, 2010.
This app will not only allow you to join Alltech in counting down the time left until the start of the games, but the "My Schedule" feature allows the user to build list of events which they wish to attend.
Events can be searched by date, name or location. A simple touch will add the chosen event to your schedule.
The Alltech Games, to be held in Lexington, Ky., USA, from September 25th through October 10th, are composed of eight world championships representing the pinnacle in equestrian sport.
“Since we stepped up as the first ever title sponsor, we’ve been counting down the years, days, and hours to our Games, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “The dawning of 2010 is marked with a great sense of excitement as Alltech and Kentucky prepare to host the world and its finest equine and human athletes in September.”
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010™ will define a new chapter in the history of the World Equestrian Games as the first time the Games have been held outside of Europe and the first time that all competition events will be held at one location – the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park. The 16-day competition involving 600 riding competitors and 700 horses from more than 60 countries is expected to be attended by as many as 600,000 spectators and viewed on television by an international audience exceeding 460 million people.
Like the Olympics, the World Equestrian Games are held every four years and are the world championships for the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). Previous host cities include Stockholm, The Hague, Rome, Jerez, and, most recently, Aachen.
Tickets have already been sold to enthusiasts in all 50 U.S. states and 44 countries.
