Two iconic collections from Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Perrelet are featured in this app. The surprising and amusing Turbine is an extremely dynamic interpretation of the Double Rotor, since the latter completely covers the dial. Consequently, the Turbine, whose design is protected, delights all observers, as it produces a spectacular optical effect, by means of a lower dial. An effect which, only on this model, is reinforced by the exceptional dissociation of the 2 rotors.

Many brilliant minds were interested in researching the perpetual movement of a mechanism that, once set in motion, would continue to function indefinitely. Abraham-Louis Perrelet had the idea of harnessing the energy produced by the natural movements of the person wearing the timekeeper and, in 1777, developed the first automatic watch in the history of watchmaking.

By placing the movement at the centre of their development projects, the Perrelet engineers developed what was to become one of the mechanisms especially typical of the watch industry, the “Double Rotor”. The Perrelet calibre P-181 with automatic winding, completely exclusive, displays two rotors, one on the dial side and the other on the side of the movement. The combination of the 2 perfectly synchronised rotors feeds the going barrel. So the mechanism has a source of energy, which is continuous and amplified. The rotor situated on the dial side also enables a constant control of the good functioning of the watch.

Perrelet is based in Switzerlands watch making capital Biel/Bienne. The Perrelet brand reflects a timeless atmosphere that is inherent to traditional luxury watchmaking, as characterised by the key qualities of authenticity, reliability and quality. All Perrelet watches are fitted with automatic movements. The brand makes no exception to this rule. The complications introduced by the collection are both highly functional and extremely easy to read. Some of these are manufactured exclusively by Perrelet, and are internationally unique.
