We should all have a nice day! Let’s share good vibes by being nice to ourselves and everyone we meet. Music clears a path through the world’s junk and noise, gets us in the right mood to spread good cheer, and helps us focus on doing our best work for those who depend on us.
I built Lofi Limo to be the soundtrack for nice days. I work with artists to curate a fresh and evolving playlist of songs and background animations guaranteed to brighten your mood and help you focus. I’ve even got a friendly DJ who pops in sometimes to keep you from feeling lonely.
Lofi Limo is perfect for when you want to focus and concentrate — maybe to dig into some work or study for an exam. It can drown out noisy officemates or neighbors. Or it can put you at ease while you kick back and chill out after a long day.
• BACKGROUND AUDIO: You can listen while using your phone for other stuff or with the screen off. It’s perfect for listening at work, in the car, at the library, or at home.
• THOUGHTFUL MUSIC SELECTION: I work hard to keep the playlist just the right size and mix of mellow and positive tracks. It’s tricky! I’m always rotating songs in and out to keep it fresh but familiar.
• BACKGROUND ANIMATIONS: As with the songs, I work with artists to curate beautiful, peaceful, meditative, and mesmerizing aesthetic animations to suit the lo-fi style.
• NO ABUSIVE ADS: Lofi Limo doesn’t have video ads, banner ads, pop-up ads, or those obnoxiously loud audio ads. I do accept donations and sell stickers, but I’m not pushy about it.
• NO CREEPY TRACKING: I don’t want your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or such. I learn about my listeners the old-fashioned way: by talking to them.
• A REAL DJ: He’s calm, confident, and full of quirky facts to help keep you company. The perfect chauffeur, he’s always got a steady hand on the wheel.
• LIVE STREAM: Lofi Limo is a 24/7 live stream with listeners around the world. Hop in and join them!
• AUDIO SESSION SUPPORT: Lofi Limo plays nice with other audio apps. It gets out of the way when it should and asks the same of them for a seamless experience.
• REMOTE CONTROL: Play and pause Lofi Limo using your phone’s lock screen controls, Control Center controls, headphone buttons, Siri, your car’s steering wheel controls, Apple Watch, and more.
• BLUETOOTH AND AUDIO ROUTING SUPPORT: Lofi Limo switches from your phone’s speaker to headphones when you connect them and it will automatically mute when you disconnect them so you don’t disturb anyone nearby.
• SONG AND BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The name of the current song and background (and their artists) are always handy so you can get to know your favorites.
• FIRST CLASS APP QUALITY: I built Lofi Limo from scratch — not using a hokey framework or website wrapper. Enjoy a crisp and snappy interface with subtle animations and buttery smooth gestures.
• EASY ON MOBILE DATA AND BATTERY: Lofi Limo uses compression, caching, and efficient decoding to deliver great audio quality without hogging your mobile data or battery life.
• VARIETY OF GENRES AND MOODS: I keep a balanced selection: you’ll hear elements of lo-fi hip hop, chill-hop, jazz-hop, chill-out, ambient jazz, downtempo electronica, vapor-wave, synth-pop, and more.
• GREAT INDIE ARTISTS: I work with independent artists to help them connect with their fans (that’s you!). I don’t repackage someone else’s stream, YouTube channel, or audio sharing service. Many artists include a link you can tap on to learn more about them, see their other work, or maybe drop them a line.
• FREE WITH NO SIGNUP: The app is free, there are no in-app purchases, and no subscription is required. You don’t need to sign up or log in to anything.
